CLUBCOMMISSION IS CALLING FOR 'DANCING BAN' TO BE LIFTED

The decision to ban dancing in clubs was made in response to a significant increase in COVID-19 infection rates in Germany. This follows a ruling to close venues in regions where more than 350 cases of coronavirus are reported per 100,000 people.

The ban on dancing in Berlin is being contested by the city's club Сommission. It is calling for the ban to be lifted and replaced by a new PCR testing system, as “PCR tests are safe”.

Clubcommission representative for Berlin’s club, Pamela Schobess, said: “In the current climate, we can understand restrictions. We appreciate that clubs - like other cultural venues - continue to have the ability to offer, for example, a seated concert program or even readings. But that alone is not club culture, and consistent political action looks different”.

The Clubcommission released a statement “criticising” the latest restrictions, posting a series of comments on Instagram.
